In case you haven’t noticed, I like Twitter. A lot. It’s an exciting place to hang out because you never know who you’ll end up in a conversation with. As a writer, it’s a lifesaver. It helps break the isolation, and if you like to play with words, it’s Heaven.
It’s About Community
I’ve been on Twitter for a while now and some people stand out because they know what it takes to be effective on social media. If you want to be respected on Twitter, emulate their habits of:
Reciprocity
Humor
Sharing
Consideration
Curiosity
Playfulness
Loyalty
I’ll let you decide which of those attributes is the most important, and which the least. For me personally, I’d place them in this order:
Respect
Loyalty

Playfulness
Before I reveal my choices for what will become an annual list of favored follows, I want to express my sincere love and gratitude to EVERYONE who has followed me. In my mind, you’re all Blue Birds, but this is a special nod to some peeps who have gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome and appreciated in the Twittersphere. I did this off the cuff, so please forgive me If I have forgotten anyone. Also, I have intentionally not included celebrities/public figures because I respect their privacy, and may not want it made public that they are following me.
